Onyx is quarried in Asia, Brazil, the United States, India, Pakistan, and Italy

The name onyx is a Greek word which means “veined gem”

It was always believed to have magical and mystical hours, the Romans had little carvings they wore on their uniforms, it was thought to stop negative thinking and to bring great inspiration in a spiritual sense.

The ancient Romans also carved their cups, vases, and bathroom sinks from Onyx because it is not a terribly hard stone and it's fairly easy to work.

Onyx can range in color from red to brown many green colors as well as pink, purple, and white.

In today's modern bathrooms, Onyx is installed on the walls, floors, countertops, and bathtub decks and shower stalls.

Onyx vessel sinks and pedestal sinks are very popular today each one is unique work of art.

Being a translucent stone sometimes Onyx is illuminated with low-voltage lighting create a truly breathtaking installation.
